The Persistent Pray-er
Luke 18:1-8
Today we continue with week two of our message series titled Story Time, where we are talking about some of the parables that Jesus told. And, being that this is Mother’s Day, we thought it would be appropriate to share a parable about a faithful woman. The parable is commonly referred to as “The Persistent Widow,” but for today we will be referring to it as “The Persistent Pray-er” and we will be hearing from a mom who is just that.

Jesus was a master storyteller. He used simple word pictures, in what we call parables, to teach profound spiritual lessons. The stories He told spoke of the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, persistence in prayer, humility, being ready for Christ’s return, handling God’s resources, and receiving God’s love, as well as many other topics.
