All I want for Christmas
Someone to rescue me
Mighty God. The Messiah is described as a “Mighty God.” Which is good, because... as we talk about wanting someone to rescue us… we need a God mighty enough to rescue us. But that is why the whole "Jesus-coming-as-a-baby-born-to-a-poor-couple-in-a-stable” thing is a difficult truth to hold. It just doesn’t scream “Mighty God” to me. But both are nonetheless true... Jesus is The Lord, strong and mighty; but He also came in the form of a lowly child, a humble infant. Our Mighty God rescued us by coming as a humble infant. Have trouble believing both of these can be true? Let’s talk about it.
