Our focus during the month of July will be on movie remakes – the trend of taking movies from the past and repurposing them into something new and fresh. What is the appeal? Does it say something about our human desire to go back to the beginning, to how things used to be? Today Pastor John kicks off the series with a look at the movie Pete’s Dragon (2016). Our goal is to discover some relevant gospel truths that are reflected in God’s Word and are meant to be lived out every day.

What is it about movies that captivates you, that draws you in, and makes you want to enter into the world it creates? As a church we think movies are one of the places that our culture finds it’s pack, escapes to a whole new world, and is reminded of many of the “good things” of life.
