We are gathered here tonight around a table, much like the disciples did some 2,000 years ago. It was a table filled with candles, cups, wine, bread. For us, it's easy to forget that this table was prepared in the shadow of a cross. Yes, Jesus was fully aware when he celebrated this meal, where his next step would be taking him.
