Unexpected Christmas

Dec 28, 2025 | Pastor Tony Boos

Living the Story

Can you believe how fast Christmas comes and goes? Then, a few days later, another year is already gone, and another year arrives! How are you at making New Year’s resolutions: to become better, leaner, fitter, stronger, more financially stable, to serve, grow more, etc.? How do we become better? Is it discipline? Attitude? Inner Strength? It’s the Bible that shows us how to live our best lives! Bonus: Hear a Pastor Brandon story from his father, Pastor Tony!

Colossians 3:1-4, 12-14, & 17

3 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. 3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

12 Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.

17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

4. This passage lists qualities to “put on.” Which of these things is most challenging for you to “put on” when you face conflict? Why? Which is the easiest for you? Why?
5. Reread v17. What is one everyday activity that you can focus on doing in God’s Name this week, even if it might be inconvenient? Write it down and ask the Holy Spirit to help you.
