Living in Babylon

Jesus in Babylon

Babylon was a city in the Old Testament. But it’s also a city today…here…in the USA…right where you live. Jesus is right in the middle of Babylon today, and even though Jesus is here, amongst us right now, so many of your family, friends, co-workers, classmates, and others don’t know Him. They covet the peace you have. One of our roles as Christ followers is to witness for Him, to share the love of Jesus with others. As you’re reading this, you may be thinking, “I am ready to share Jesus.” But are you? Really? Is “I am ready to share Jesus” something you can say now…quietly, privately, and softly? Today at Faith Columbia, we are going to explore Jesus in Babylon and how you fit in.

Series Information

The term Babylon is synonymous with a “pagan” culture, or non-Christian territory. Babylon in the O.T. was considered the enemy, the people who defeated the Israelites and made them exiles in a strange and foreign land that was not their home. In the same way, Christian believers who desire to live as children of God are feeling the effects of living in a changing post-Christian, even anti-Christian America.
