It's Time for a Check-Up

Oct 03, 2021 | Pastor Chris Sommer

God’s Gift of Limits

This week we continue talking about emotional health in this series we have titled “It’s time for a check-up.” And today we are specifically speaking about “God’s gift of limits.” And as I prepared this week to talk about having faithful limits and healthy boundaries, I was reminded of this quote from Henry Cloud and John Townsend: “The most basic boundary-setting word is 'no.’” The word “no” can be a problem for us. Here’s why... we seem to have a dislike of saying “no” to the world, while at the same time we have a dislike of being told “no” by God. If I asked you if that was true of you, what would your answer be? No? Let’s talk about it.

Series Information

Anger, rage, bitterness, fear, anxiety, grief, and a host of other emotional health issues have increased to levels that have people shaking their heads in confusion. In this series titled It's Time for a Check-Up, we are taking time to do some evaluation and understand how the good news of the Gospel can break through to bring healing.
