Experience the Life

Have you ever asked yourself, "How can I grow in my faith?" In our content-rich culture, where hundreds of translations of the scriptures are at our fingertips and countless Bible studies are streaming on demand, it is easy to think that growing in our faith is about learning more about God. But the truth is that content is not the problem. To really experience the extraordinary life Jesus wants to give, we have to move past more content and into more community.

Acts 2:42-47

42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

For Adult Homes & Groups

1. Read Acts 2:42-47. What does this scripture teach you about experiencing life together?

2. What challenges do you face when trying to experience life together?

3. What stuck out to you in today’s message, and what will you do about it?

For Families with Kids

1. Read Hebrews 10:23-25. Why is it important to be a part of a church community, and how can we actively participate when we get together?

2. Look again at v 24. What are some ways you can motivate others to engage in good works? How can you be someone who helps others grow in their faith?

4. What might happen if we try to follow Jesus alone without community? How can we strengthen our relationships at Faith?

5. Do you think it’s important to experience the life in church community even when you’re feeling discouraged? Why or why not? How can the church community strengthen your faith?

6. For December, set three goals to experience the life here at Faith. For example: come up for prayer after worship, worship every Sunday this month, check in with another family you have not seen in a while, etc. Pray for Jesus to help you.
