Ash Wednesday 2025

Psalms 51:1-14

Guilt. It's a problem. All of us experience it to a wide extent and we all try to handle it in different ways. So how are we to think about guilt? What do we do with it? Does guilt serve a purpose at all? Psalm 51 is the prime prayer God equips us with to deal with our guilt in sin. There's no better way to start our Lenten journey than taking care of our guilt right at the beginning. Praying our guilt to God is the only way forward.

Series Information

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, which originated in the early Christian Church. As a sign of repentance, Christians would sprinkle ashes on their heads. In the Bible, ashes were always associated with humility and mortality, fasting and remorse. Tonight we remember how Christians have done this as a remembrance of sins for hundreds of years and the price Christ paid by His death on a cross for our forgiveness and grace.
