My Story

Pastor Matt is passionate about connecting the disconnected and helping people translate the unchanging Gospel to an ever-changing world. He lives this passion out through preaching, teaching, and training the next generation of disciple makers, church planters, and ministry leaders. He is the Founder and Director of the Kairos Network. Matt is married to Liza and they have three boys: Brooks, Samuel Rex, and Reece.

Pastor Matt graduated from Truman State University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications Journalism and from Concordia Seminary in 2009 with a Master's of Divinity. He is the first graduate of the Mid-South District Church plant training center, founder of The Point in Knoxville, TN, and founder of the Mid-South's second church plant training center, The Point. He received the Fred E. Lietz Mission and Ministry Award in 2012. Pastor Matt was the Senior Pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ridgewood, NJ, from 2017-22, and is currently the founder and director of The Kairos Network.
