Cyril Loum
PastorI am one of four boys born to Rev. Dr. John and Hannah Loum. Born in Gambia, West Africa, I migrated to Fort Wayne, Indiana, at the age of seven, then moved to St. Louis during college. My hobbies include talking about Jesus, reading, listening to worship music, writing, and talking about launching or scaling businesses. At 22, I felt the Lord call me into ministry. I didn’t yet know what that looked like but knew I would preach the Gospel. After my Master’s, I became the full-time executive director of Caring Ministries Inc., stabilizing communities by empowering moderate workforce Americans, immigrants, and refugees to achieve self-sufficiency andsustainable housing. I also taught entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship at St. Louis University. After leading that organization for over 7+ years, I started the SMP process to become a pastor. In this time, I served as a vicar for Timothy Lutheran Church and Bethlehem Lutheran Church while continuing my role with Caring Ministries. In 2017, the Lord led me to start Hodiamont Ministry, which makes disciples in a multi-cultural community. At this time, I met my now fiancé, Sunita Manu, during church in St. Louis. We recently got engaged after dating for over 4+ years. Sunita is currently completing her Ph.D. at St. Louis University in public health, as I work my full-time position as the Assistant Director of Venture Development at Washington University in St. Louis entrepreneurship center.
