FAITH Story

When I was growing up, my parents made a massive effort to show my sisters and I the love of Jesus. My dad is a pastor, so we frequented church services, worship events, and (the holiest of all) church potlucks, which helped me know the incredible love of God; a love that I could not earn. I was homeschooled from kindergarten through high school (...yes, you can laugh), and began playing guitar with my sister as a freshmen. She took lessons at the time, and would come down from the mountain to teach me her newly acquired rock-n-roll wisdom at home. Bon Jovi, Kansas, and the Beatles were our primer in music education. After I graduated high school, I began playing bass guitar with a friend who led worship at a neighboring church. He helped inspire me to pursue worship leading, and I found myself applying to colleges that offered degrees with a Music Ministry focus. I was accepted to College of the Ozarks, and studied general music with a minor in Christian Ministry. During my first week of classes, I met an incredible girl named Laura, who grew up overseas in a missionary family. I knew she was a catch. We dated, got engaged, and married in the summer of 2016! A friend of Laura’s connected us to Faith’s Columbia campus, which led me to get a position at Faith as a worship coordinator in the summer of 2017. Laura and I happily live in South County, and are so grateful to the Lord for leading us to this place. Thanks for reading, I hope to meet you in real life soon!
