MAUNDY THURSDAY - APRIL 2
7 PM
Before the Israelites left Egypt, they were invited into a meal in which the angel of death passed over them, and they celebrated their movement from slavery to freedom. Each year, they gathered to celebrate the Passover meal as a reminder of God’s provision, presence, and salvation. This was the very same meal Jesus celebrated during Holy Week. Except this time, Jesus wasn’t celebrating what God had already done, but what God was about to do for the world by allowing death to pass over us all through the sacrifice Jesus was about to make. This Maundy Thursday, we remember how Jesus is the ultimate fulfillment of the Passover meal.
